About biltong and droëwors

Biltong is dried meat, preserved with salt and spices, while droëwors is a thin, dried variant of traditional boerewors sausage. Both are great snacks at any time of the day.

There are many biltong recipes, but the basic ingredients usually include salt, white pepper, bicarbonate of soda, brown sugar, coriander, and vinegar.

Droëwors is very similar to boerewors, but does not usually contain pork or veal. Drying makes the sausage less desirable for cooking, but ideal for storage.
